Who runs this site
First 90 Days in Australia is a free website run by an individual who moved to Australia. It is not a government website, and it is not connected with, or endorsed by, any government agency.
No one pays to be listed. Businesses, apps and websites are named only as examples to help you get started, not as recommendations. Their names and trade marks belong to their owners, and this site is not connected with them.
General information only
Everything on this site is general information. It does not take your own situation into account, and it is not immigration, tax, financial, legal or medical advice.
Visas and immigration. This site does not help with visa applications or advise about visa matters. The Department of Home Affairs says only registered migration agents, Australian legal practitioners and certain exempt people can lawfully give immigration assistance in Australia. If you need advice about your visa, check that an agent is registered on the official register before you use them.
Search the Register of Migration Agents ↗
Tax and money. For tax advice, use a tax agent registered with the Tax Practitioners Board.

Health. In an emergency, call 000. For health advice, see a doctor or contact healthdirect.
Accuracy
Each step is written from the official sources it links to, and shows when it was last checked. If you find a mistake, please tell us (see Contact and corrections below). Rules, fees and services change, and they differ between states and territories, so always check the official source before you act. Where something could not be confirmed, the step says so. Tips marked as a recent arrival's experience are not from an official source.
Links to other websites
This site links to government and other websites. Their content is their own, and it can change or move without notice.
Responsibility
This site is provided free and as is. To the extent the law allows, the site owner is not responsible for any loss that comes from relying on it. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Privacy
- No accounts. You don't sign up, and the site does not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your ticks stay on your device. Your progress and choices (state, visa type, kids, whether you have arrived) are saved in your own browser and are not sent to the site owner. Clearing your browser data, or using "Reset my progress", removes them.
- The "Continue on another device" link carries your ticked steps and choices inside the link itself. Anyone you share it with can see them.
- Visit counts. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which counts visits for the site owner, such as country, page, device type and the website you came from. The site owner does not see your name or contact details.
- Fonts. Your browser loads the site's fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives the basic technical details any website request includes, such as your IP address.
- Cookies. The site itself does not set cookies.
